A word on evangelism

Our aim is to make disciples of Jesus Christ in the student world and therefore sharing the good news is an integral part of CU life. Why do we feel it's so important to tell our friends the Gospel message?

The CU puts on various events throughout the year to facilitate evangelism. All of the events focus upon explaining the gospel - since it is only through understanding the gospel and believing it that people are restored to a right relationship with God - and are designed so that people can bring friends or students can just walk in. Events include weekly lunch bars (talk and free lunch), first contact (stopping students on campus with questionnaires), Christianity Explored courses, the carol service etc, including events run by nine20 and house groups!

A way of life...

But that's not our share of evangelism done! It should be a way of life, something we're involved in everyday i.e. hot contact with friends as well as first contact with strangers! It's so important that we share Christ with our friends and the people we live with in the way we live out our lives, making the most of every opportunity to share our faith (Colossians 4:3-6).

SaltIt's such an amazing privilege that God chooses to use us to reach out to people with the Gospel, one that we should be making the most of. The CU tries to facilitate evangelism, but we each need to be personally involved in telling our friends how much God has done for us!

Philemon 1:6 - "I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ."
